In 2008 Kharkiv (Ukraine) held roller skating festival IRoller2008. Due to planned competitions in speed slalom, organizer faced a problem of precision time measurement. All measurements for such kind of competitions have been done manually for now due to extreme expensiveness of the professional sporting time measurement equipment. Therefore the precision of timing was low due to short distance and high speed of the competitors. That's the reason of ordering development and production of the "prosumer" timing system in Chip Solutions company.

In a couple months the customer got a few pieces of the xTimer timing system which were used for time measuring during the festival successfully.

    xTimer system description : 

• Power - 6 batteries АА type + 2 batteries 6F22 type.
• Autonomy - more then 8 hours continuous work.
• The infrared barrier width - up to 3m.
• Distance between the main unit and a barrier - up to 100m.
• Number of barriers - 2.
• System components - main unit (control and indication), 2 receivers and 2 transmitters of the infrared barriers.
